Birthday

It’s my 18th birthday on Saturday. Despite the fact I know that in reality it’s not that old – it is still a little creepy. All the oldies will no doubt scorn me for being so stupid, but 18 years is quite a long time!

So in honour of the occasion, and because split ends aren’t fashionable anymore, I took a trip to the hairdressers. I quite like going to the hairdressers for a number of reasons, although I always feel a little like I’m intruding.

Not only are all the young girls in my hairdressers rather attractive, but they also wear shirts that are far to low cut for someone who has to lean over all the time. They really aren’t my type, but they do make it slightly more bearable.

I haven’t got the full dyke hair do yet, It’s slowly getting there – getting just that little bit shorter every 5/6 weeks since I was 15. I can’t help wondering if my hairdresser knows, as she’s given me something which looks disturbingly like a baby mullet this month.

It’s my party tonight. And I’ll invite all my gay friends if I want to. It’ll at least make mummy wonder where I meet these kinds of people.

Happy 18th you little baby,
Man what I'd give to be 18 again. I always swore when I was your age that when I got to my age now, the big 28, I'd never say to I'd never say to the youngters "when I was your age", but I'm fucking doing it. Ah someone shoot me, Im gonna be 30 next year, oh my god how did I get this old, ok Im gonna leave you in peace now chick, I'm going to knit a new cardigan ;-0

Hell no, I'm going to hang out the window and watch the neighbours sunbath in their bikini's ;-0

PS. where's your hairdresser's? You lucky ting, mine are old.

Happy Birthday again :-)

Happy birthday! as this is the first time in a long time i've gotten to check up on some of my blogs, here are responses to several of your entries. one: do you know of tegan & sara? there's another requisite lesbian band, interesting mostly for the fact they're twin lesbian sisters (let's see you get some blog hits for that phrase). but have other music recommendations if you'd like them. secondly, i'm currently writing (or hoping to write) a lesbian teen novel, because of such a shortage, and really, those that i've read for 'reference' are disturbingly uninspiring. not that mine is going to be any better, but it will not include the phrase 'wiry little butch," as one of the books i read did. bad move on my part? i don't know. and thirdly, i am concerned for your babymullet, although i love the phrase. don't let it sprout!

anyhow, happy birthday, again. hope you're celebrating.

Happy Birthday to YOu!!!!! and I hope your party goes well again.

When i turned 18, i dreaded it. But when i did turn, it felt like just any other year. So i just shrugged and skipped along some merry years.

oh, and i love the new look you gave to your blog.

ahh. it's my fault for not proofreading. I don't know why I wrote the word "again" with your party. What was I thinking??

What I meant was, "Hope your party goes well!"

Mad Hatter- Hairdresser's in Bangor. They are pretty, but very dim. Sometimes I wonder why I trust them with scissors.

Anonymous - Party was good - warm and sweaty, and I drank the pub out of it's weekly Smirnoff Ice supply.

Jules - Thanks - and I like your phraseology!

Pezgirl - Thanks :)

That girl - Yes, I do rather like Tegan and Sara. Lesbian twins... sigh... google hits galore. Any recomendations are always welcome.

Good luck with the book. I currently don't have the patience to write a book, but someone is investing in me writing poetry.

Babymullet will also be making a short (no pun intended) stay.

MM - Thank yooooou!

Extremely - I am not a birthday person. I actually dislike the attention.

I'm glad you like the new layout. I'd been looking for something a little more unique for a while, and took a liking to this layout.
